Private Peaceful

Today 13th September, we all (KS2) went to the Tyne Theatre and Opera House to watch the performance of the popular novel, written by Michael Morpurgo Private Peaceful. The story follows 24 hours in his life at the front during WW1. This story captures his memories as he looks back over his life. Viewing this performance raised lots of questions about World War 1 from the children.

Children were asking, what is no-man’s land? Why did they need to take hostages? Was it like that for all soldiers? One child even said. it must have affected more than just the soldiers, what about all of their family members.
