OPAL Crew
Our OPAL Crew are Bertie, Jack, Charlotte, Zachary and Max.
Our OPAL Crew are pupil leaders who help make playtime at St. Michael’s C of E Primary School exciting, creative, inclusive and full of opportunities for every child.
Working as part of our OPAL approach, the OPAL Crew help children to make the most of their playtimes by encouraging imagination, creativity, exploration and active play.
Our OPAL Crew:
- Help children make the most of the different play opportunities and spaces around school.
- Encourage children to use their imagination and creativity during play.
- Help children discover new games, activities and ways to play.
- Support children to join in and include others.
- Encourage positive relationships, cooperation and teamwork during play.
- Help younger children understand and enjoy the different play opportunities available.
- Listen to children’s ideas about play and share their suggestions with staff.
- Help promote safe, respectful and enjoyable play.
- Act as positive role models by demonstrating kindness, inclusion and creativity.
- Help create a playground where everyone has the opportunity to play, explore and have fun.
Our OPAL Crew understand that play is an important part of childhood. Through their leadership and enthusiasm, they help create a playtime culture where children can take risks, solve problems, make friends, be creative and develop their independence.
