Fire Engine Nursery

This week in nursery we have been learning about fire fighters and how they can help us. We have talked a lot about fire safety and how to stay safe on Bonfire Night!

In nursery we have been pretending to be fire fighters, squirting water and putting out our own pretend fires. Some of us have used some recycled materials to build a fire engine!

On Friday some real fire fighters visited our school. The firemen cam in dressed in their uniforms and one of them was wearing all of the special breathing apparatus. Some of us were a little scared at first because the breathing equipment sounded a little bit scary.

We all went outside and looked around the fire engine. We even climbed onto the fire engine and pretended we were the fire fighters! Finally the fire fighters rolled out a very long hose pipe and allowed us to hold it and squirt lots of water. This was great fun and some of us got a little bit wet!

We have really enjoyed learning about fire fighters!
