On peace day we discussed the meaning of peace and what it meant to be at peace. We learnt why it was set up and discussed what it would be like to live in a world without war. We linked it to our R.E topic – The Bible. We looked at how the Bible promotes peace in it’s stories. We looked at new and old testament stories, one including where the messiah was referred to as the Prince of Peace.
A child said, “Jesus died peacefully on the cross so that promotes peace.” Another commented, “If we respect other people’s beliefs we are more likely to have peace.”
