The Great Get Together Class 3 – 2017

On Friday 16th June 2017, we were inspired by the teachings of Jo Cox and her message to stop division and bring us all together by finding all the things we have in common. We stared by learning a little bit about Jo’s life and her achievements as a MP. After that, we found things we have in common with the people we sit next to and we found that really easy because we work with them all the time. We then found out all the things we had in common in the class with a game of heads down hands up. We found that we all had felt sad at times and we have all felt lonely at some part. Next, the class was all muddled up the class so we were sat next to people that we don’t usually work with. Our challenge was to draw a house by instructing our partner every step. This challenge developed our communications skills and broke down barriers with new people. We hope we this would do Jo proud.

The children said “It was weird at first but then it was really fun.” and “It was a nice new experience.”

“We have more in common than that which divides us.” Jo Cox
