On Thursday 11th October 2018, we all went to Durham Cathedral. While we were there we were extremely lucky to be given a guided tour around the Cathedral. Some of us even got the opportunity to visit the classroom of Hogwarts. During the tour, we were shown around the different religious artefacts and then questioned on our understand of them within the church. Our second activity linked into our World War 1 topic. We made tissue paper poppies, one for school and one to remain at the Cathedral that would be part of their 100 year display. We also got the opportunity to look at three artefact boxes, these were four local brothers from Witton Park. We were asked to investigate the Bradford Brother’s artefact boxes and decided what part they played in WW1. We were interested to find out two of the brothers, Roland and George received the Victoria Cross and Thomas and James got the Military Cross.
