Today, we had Alison Baker in to show and help us make clay poppies. She gave us one piece of clay which we had to roll out to the right thickness using wooden guides. Next, we had to use some circle cutters to cut out two different shape circles. We then applied them together using slip. Once this had been done, we then added fine details using a range of tools.
One child said, this is great fun I can’t wait to see it when it comes out of the kiln. Another added, I had curled the edges up on mine so it looks like a real petal.
