Today, we all came to school dressed in red because it was a special day. It was St. George’s Day! We watched a video about St. George’s Day and discussed what we had learnt.  We also learnt that he became a Patron Saint because he slayed a dragon and saved someone. We found that we celebrate St. George’s Day every year on April 23rd because it is the date he was killed for refusing to give up his Christian faith.

Here are some quotes from the children:

“St. George was punished like Jesus.”

“He was really brave.”

“St. George is also the patron saint of other countries too!”
