Today, was the international day of peace. Throughout the week, we learned about what peace is and what it means to live in safety and without fear. We also looked at the symbol for peace, the dove. Using the story of Noah and The Arc, we learned about how the dove showed final peace for the animals on the arc and that the storm was passing with dry land ahead. The children came together for a minute of silence while holding hands to think about those who perhaps don’t have peace or to think how lucky they are to know they have peace. We also made artwork based around the dove.
