Sports Relief Class 1 2018

Today we celebrated Sports Relief and we all had a fun day!

The day started with an assembly hosted by the Pupil Parliament. We learnt the meaning of Sport Relief and that throughout the day we would complete lots of sporting activities to raise money for the cause.

Next, we had a Skype call from Steph Houghton captain of the Women’s England football team. We asked her lots of questions and listened to her story of how she became a footballer. We loved speaking to Steph and were all very encouraged to participate in the sporting activities.

Then, we went outside to compete in some fitness games against the other classes. We had to pick up the beanbags and run to put them on the opposite teams sides. We played games including javelin, ladder run and fit for life, we all had so much fun and were all a little out of breath.

Throughout the day we had to run a mile for sports relief, we all tried very hard and showed lots of endurance.

We all worked really hard throughout the day and understood the importance of Sport Relief. Well done Class 1!

A child asked Steph, “Do you play sports?” Another said, “We are going to play football.” While another commented, “I want to run 5 more laps!”
