Throughout the month of October, we have been looking at Black History and why this is important. One of the significant people we have looked at is, Rosa Parks! We started by looking at images of her and discussing why we thought she was important. After much discussion, we watched a short clip that explained who Rosa Parks was and what she had done. The children described Rosa Parks as being kind, brave, honest and friendly. The children decided that they would love to have met Rosa Parks and wrote questions that they would like to ask her. The next day we had a visitor. During a hot seating activity, the children were able to ask Rosa Parks their very own questions and got some fantastic responses.
We have loved learning about significant black people and how they are an inspiration.
