On Friday, as part of STEM day we had a visit from engineers. They first told us that they were engineers and made us watch a video all about fast cars. They explained that they were building a car using rocket engines that would travel a staggering 1050mph. We then built our own rockets which we fired. We discussed ways that we could make the rockets travel further and we decided to add a stone as a weight. Because of this, the rockets travelled much further and some even left the school grounds!
The children said, “It was great because mine travelled the furthest. I attached a stone on each side of the rocket,” and “Mine didn’t travel as far because I did not attach my stones tight enough and one came off in the air.”
