Today was Democracy Day. We talked a little bit about the meaning of the word ‘democracy’ and one child said, ‘It is where people decide rules for us.’ Another said, ‘We have pupil parliament.’ To mark the day, we set up a voting station where the children had the chance to vote for the book they want next as their class text. They all loved having a say in something in the classroom!
