Today, we had a very special visitor come into school to talk about what or school was like 50 years ago! We all listened carefully as Mike took us back to the year 1969, 50 years ago!
We learnt that school looked different back when Mike was in school, they didn’t have fancy whiteboards like we do now, they used chalkboards. He showed us what the playground looked like, it didn’t have all the toys that we have now. Instead, it was just concrete and grass! Mike showed us a long piece of wood and told us it was a cane, we were very thankful that teachers no longer have them in school! Then he showed us what the toilets looked like, we were all shocked!
We learnt a lot about what school was like 50 years ago. One child said, “School was very different for Mike.’ Another said, ‘We are really lucky.’
