Today, we were visited by the author and illustrator of the book, Snowdrop the Spike shuffler! The book is about celebrating our differences and that not one person is the same. Snowdrop is an albino hedgehog who grows up in a world full of challenges. The book teaches us that being different can be hard but there are lots of people around us that can help us to overcome the challenges we face.
One child said, “We are all different and we should show each other respect.”
The illustrator of the book, Jonathan, told us about his life with autism. He faced some difficulties as a child growing up. He had lots of nice people who helped him in his life and helped him find his love of drawing. He preserved with his love of drawing and finally became an illustrator when he met Peter.
At the end of the morning, we met Snowdrop, the hedgehog and had our photograph taken with him.
Thank you for visiting us today!
