On Thursday 2nd March, It was ‘World Book Day’. We celebrated the day by coming into school dressed up as our favourite character from a book. Mr Houghton even came dressed as Oliver Twist from his favourite book. Miss Cannings and Mrs Taylor were vicious pirates from the story we have been looking at in our literacy lessons. They looked so cool.
First of all, we paraded our outfits to the rest of our classes in assembly. It was amazing to get high 5’s from all our friends. We also read ‘The Tiger Who Came to Tea’ as a class and we answered lots of different questions on it.
Especially for World Book Day, we designed our very book tokens as part of a competition. We made sure we used lots of colours and tried to be very unique with the hope of winning. As we were being creative, we thought of different places to read a book – somewhere that nobody would have tried before. We had lots of fun doing this.
As we love to read so much, we sometimes get called bookworms. We used an origami technique to design our very own book worm. What an amazing day we had! We can’t wait for the next ‘World Book Day’.
