This week is Anti-Bullying week.

In class, we have been talking about bullying and discussing how we can both prevent and respond to it. First, we discussed what bullying was and looked at the different types of bullying.  We learned that although someone may look okay on the outside, they could be hurting on the inside and that saying sorry does not make the person forget.

We then spoke about what we could do to make someone smile and how we can be a better friend.

Here are some ideas from the children:

“I’m going to make sure no one is by themselves at playtime.”

“I am going to make sure I remember to say please and thank you to everyone who helps me.”

“I am going to say kind things to my friends.”

“When my friend is sad, I am going to make them smile by giving them a big hug.”
